Upskilling Teams in Mobile App Development
The Developer Academy, based in Sheffield, delivers software coding training programs designed to bridge the regional tech skills gap by upskilling employees. Their courses cover data science, app development, cloud technologies (AWS & Azure), programming, machine learning, and UI/UX.
The Developer Academy wanted to provide its students with a deeper understanding of mobile development for both Android and iOS. The goal was to assess existing techniques, introduce the latest industry practices, and explore ways to improve app performance and usability. With in-person training limited due to coronavirus lockdown measures, the challenge was to design an engaging and effective remote training program.
The Curve was appointed to design and deliver a comprehensive two-day training program covering core aspects of mobile app development. The sessions provided foundational knowledge in Android and iOS development, evaluated best practices already in use, introduced modern app development techniques, and explored opportunities for enhancing existing applications.
The training program equipped the Developer Academy’s students with up-to-date knowledge, improving their technical proficiency and ensuring they were better prepared for the evolving demands of the software industry.
