Gamified Learning Platform
Arithmagicians started as a paper-based classroom activity designed to help students improve their mental arithmetic skills. Recognising the potential to make the learning process more engaging, founder Ebrahim Tafti reached out to The Curve to transform the concept into a dynamic, game-based online platform.
The goal was to create a web-based experience that would not only help students prepare for SATs and future learning but also ensure that the process was enjoyable and rewarding. The platform needed to be accessible to schools nationwide, providing a structured but entertaining way for students to build their confidence in mathematics.
The Curve developed the Arithmagicians platform using Ruby on Rails for the core web application and React for the interactive game elements. The system was designed with distinct user roles—students could access challenges, customise their avatars, and track their progress on leaderboards, while teachers had a separate portal to manage content, view student performance, and access educational materials.
The Arithmagicians platform successfully transformed a classroom-based activity into an interactive digital learning tool that improves students’ arithmetic fluency while keeping them entertained. Schools across the country can now integrate Arithmagicians into their curriculum, helping students develop essential maths skills in a fun and engaging way.

Their Thoughts
Ebrahim Tafti – Artithmagicians, Owner
“We’re delighted that the Arithmagicians website is now live and is in use in classrooms all around the country, supporting students to improve their mental mathematics skills in preparation for SATs and future learning.
The Curve have been extremely supportive throughout the process of setting the website live and have done a fantastic job ensuring all of the functionality is in place and is ready for both teachers and students. They were able to take everything that they have learnt from previous projects and apply it to Arithmagicians. I would definitely recommend The Curve to anyone looking to start an Ed-Tech business.”
